Wizards Wander

UPCOMING EVENT:
MAY 4th, 2025 - SAVE THE DATE!!

WITCHES AND WIZARDS WEEKEND

The first ever Wizard Community Event is set for the May long weekend in 2025!

A time has come for the modern-day wisdoms of our masculine and feminine sides, to come together and celebrate all that we have and all  that we are.

The aim of the event is to provide a family-friendly, unique and valuable vehicle for knowledge sharing, open discussion, and community bonding, for the purpose of enriching our social network and giving increased value to our lives.

Why not create for ourselves an intentional event with the opportunity to learn, to celebrate our friendships, to discuss our values, and to show our younger generations a community that is bound by love and acceptance

Adults will have the opportunity to discuss important life-topics whilst kids can be entertained with separate activities.  Kids will have the opportunity to get together to learn and contribute their own  ideas amongst their peers.  The goal is to outsource children activities for part of the event, to free-up time for parents.

Some themes of the event include:

  • the wonder of nature
  • the importance of silence and reflection
  • the celebration of authenticity (“harmony within diversity”)
  • the opportunity to contribute
  • the power of breath

If you’re reading this then it really is your presence that makes this event a valuable life experience.  Let’s book ahead and lock in this privledge for ourselves and our loved ones!

Please RSVP to the invite, or register your interest with either of the admin team for this event (Paul Michael, Jo
Ellice-Flint, Boyana Popvassilev, Patrick Sargent, or Ben Croft).

The Location of this event is being discussed and we are narrowing down an appropriate place with lots of space and a communal area that will suit our needs.

There will be a cost for the event, however, this cost will be kept as low as possible and will be a division of total costs, between adults attending.

Activities – This part is the exciting part and is still being worked out.. however, think maybe some  light-hearted group breath work, perhaps some nature wandering, some meditation, and some silent disco!!

Food will be catered for during the event, and after we have an estimate on numbers, more details will be revealed.

What does the word "community" mean for a wizard?

A major inspiration and purpose of the wizard community is the desire to teach our younger generations how to “contribute” and “belong” to something collectively GREAT.

To navigate through this increasingly difficult world it is now, and more than ever, so important that our families grow together and continue to evolve.

A wizard would agree that it is the obligation of a fortunate group of friends to ensure that our younger generations have both the resources and experiences to grow and nuture a prosperous community of their own.

What higher purpose is there than to use our available resources to share knowledge and wisdoms between ourselves, and to discuss the deeper meanings of existence to our youth? Can we offer some guidance towards the struggles they will face? Could we better prepare them for the potholes of the material-world?

Our civilization praises itself for advances in science and technology, yet mental health disorders and suicide rates run rife.

There is much wisdom in past and present cultures readily accessible in this age of information.

How can we utilize community and technology to our advantage to share and apply these principles  in our fast-paced world?

Could we be teaching our children the art of emotional regulation through breath-control? Can we re-iterate within our community the values of exercise and proper nutrition?

Can we give our future generations some  resources to help them navigate towards their own sense of authenticity and self worth?

Can we offer our children a sense of belonging that extends beyond their circle of friends?

It is the wizard’s purpose to show our children the beauty that exists within them, to create communities that move and feel in unison, and a to facilitate a collective consciousness that shares attention, awareness and persepctives on matters of priority.  Ultimately, it is our responsibility to reveal to our younger generations the infinite wonders in this world, and the importance of our role as humans to support and fight for the lifegiving ecosystem of earth.

…But one thing is for sure….a wizard cannot give what he does not have.  And in there lies the passion for adult wizards to be the best version of himself, to lead by example, and to strive towards better insights, sharing values with like-motivated members of the community.  A community with shared values is more influential than a parent talking to a child.  “It takes a village to raise a child”.

We have a choice to make change.  To challenge the ignorance of social dogmas, to carve out rituals and practices that formulate our own culture, and to build traditions that guide us and our children through the modern world, better connected to earth and each other and better able to make choices that result in a state of true health and wellbeing… towards a Golden Age.

Indigenous cultures did not aspire to “own” anything and therefore avoided the stifling restrictions of a life dedicated to paying bills.  Instead, they dedicated much of their time and freedom to what intuitively mattered; family, community, creation, wandering, traditions and story telling.

Community members  learnt a sense of meaning and purpose from listening to the wisdom of elders.

There is a certain wisdom in any culture which considered themselves to be positioned within the natural organisation of things.  There is genius in the distinction between “belonging to”, as opposed to “owning” the land. Can we take a leaf from these cultures of our ancestors, toward an existence where we live in harmony with nature and find balance between the material and spiritual self?

Can we respect the delicate balance of biodiversity and create an abundance of nutrient dense foods?

Can we adapt to the seasons and build immune system resilience as robust as nature intended?
